Lacrosse in the Philippines
University and International School Manila I was able to take a few days to visit my family in Pampanga which is North of Manila. One thing about being Filipino, if you go back to the homeland, you better visit your family. It was so nice to reconnect as I haven’t been home for 5 years. I guess I was due.
As you know from my recent posts, the clinics were great! We were able to reach over 400 kids from both schools. Another cool thing was all the behind the scenes stuff, the moments we had with the general public talking about lacrosse, showing random people how to throw and catch. Meeting with the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, New Coaches and our contacts at the schools. We could see the curiosity in everyone’s eyes. Soon as people got the stick in their hands and just threw around a bit. It all came together. It’s amazing what a great platform lacrosse is. It’s something that brings us together regardless of background, money or stature. I encourage anyone that loves this game to please share with the world. Thanks to 3x for affording me with some goals and opportunity to share with you all. Look out for my next trip to the Philippines in January 2014.
